A man was arrested for carrying drugs into the TRNC from Turkey, last Saturday.
Ertugrul Simsek was detained by police at Ercan when a sniffer dog indicated that he was carrying drugs. Police found him to be in possession of 3 grams of jute.
Mr Simsek was at Nicosia criminal court yesterday where he was ordered to be detained for 20 days until his court date is fixed. He is been remanded in custody for the interim as he is considered a flight risk.
