Over the past few weeks, Bulut (Cloud) Construction has been advertising its Lavinium housing estate.
It has also stressed that the disputed access road which links the site to the main Nicosia – Kyrenia road, has finally been opened.
However, this assertion has been roundly denied by all the relevant authorities.
Transport and Public Works Minister, Ahmet Kasif has flatly rejected the claim that the road has been opened. Mr Kasif says that there is no permission for the road and that in fact no application has been received for its construction.
This statement is also backed up by the Governor of Kyrenia Gurkan Kara, who says that the council had stopped the illegal road construction and would be taking legal proceedings against Cloud Construction for attempting to build a road without the required approvals.
