“If an outcome hasn’t been reached until now then I think that is due to the reluctance of the Greek Cypriot side. Let’s hope that the Greek Cypriot side will take a step on some issues that it has been stubborn on, so that an agreement can be reached. I hope that an outcome will be reached in the short period ahead”, he said.
He noted that the government, together with Turkey, support the negotiations.
The leader of the Democrat Party, deputy Prime Minister-Finance Minister Serdar Denktaş said that they can clearly see that the Greek Cypriot side is continuing with its insincerity towards the Cyprus problem and added that the Turkish Cypriot people could not continue to live for another 50 years in uncertainty. At some point, the Turkish Cypriot people had to make their own choices and follow their own path.
“If the Greek Cypriots desire a solution then the process will come to a conclusion. Due to their insincerity continuing even if an agreement is reached, I for one am very suspicious”, said Denktaş and called on the people to be patient until the end of the year.

He said that the current problems cannot be solved with old solutions.
