Akinci has phone conversation with Boris Johnson

President Mustafa Akinci held a telephone conversation with UK Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs, Boris Johnson.

According to Akinci’s press office, the conversation lasted for 25 minutes and the call was initiated by the British Minister.

Akinci briefed Johnson on recent developments regarding the negotiations, which had come to a halt after the South Cyprus House of Representatives’ vote to commemorate the 1950 enosis plebiscite in schools. Akinci also conveyed to the minister the Turkish Cypriot side’s sensitivities on the issue and its approach regarding the negotiating process from now on.
