President Mustafa Akıncı is meeting today with Prime Minister Tufan Erhürman and with leaders of political parties with seats in the TRNC legislative assembly evaluating the latest developments on the Cyprus Problem as well as the Greek Cypriot side’s unilateral activities in the Eastern Mediterranean regarding hydrocarbon exploration.
The President first received the Prime Minister at 10am this morning.
The two were later joined by the leaders of the other political parties that make up the coalition government.
Present at the meeting was the leader of the Peoples’ Party, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Kudret Özersay, the TDP leader and Minister of National Education and Culture Cemal Özyiğit and the DP leader and Minister of Finance Serdar Denktaş.
The meeting was expanded to include the leader of the main opposition National Unity Party Hüseyin Özgürgün and the leader of the Rebirth Party Erhan Arıklı at noon.
The political party leaders are expected to make statements to the press after the meeting.
