Newly elected Turkish Cypriot President Mustafa Akinci will meet President Nicos Anastasiades on Saturday, the South Cyprus government spokesman has said.
They are expected to discuss the resumption of negotiations during the lunchtime meeting but could also touch upon the substance of the Cyprus problem.
The meeting was agreed during a telephone conversation the two men had on Tuesday, spokesman Nicos Christodoulides said.
He added that the South’s government intended to announce unilateral confidence building measures on Tuesday or Wednesday.
Anastasiades said on Monday that Akinci’s election gave hope that at long last Cyprus will be reunited.
