President Mustafa Akinci has expressed his concern about a law on elections and referenda, approved by the assembly last week.
Citing information obtained by Kibris Time newspaper, Yeni Duzen notes that Akinci has some reservations about the time period for which a person should live in the TRNC, in order for being able to become a candidate in political elections. Meanwhile, some National Unity Party (UBP) deputies, the major coalition partner – are also said to be against this law.
