The latest statistics from the TRNC’s Chamber of Commerce show a significant increase in alcohol consumption.
In the first nine months of this year, TL 58 million of alcoholic drinks were imported into the TRNC. These comprised 8.5 million litres of beer, 1 million litres of wine, 700,000 litres of whiskey and 500,000 litres of raki
The most popular import was beer followed by wine, whiskey and raki.
Increasing alcohol consumption is demonstrated by import figures from 2007 which were TL 24 million in comparison to the first nine months of 2013, where these figures have more than doubled to TL 58 million.
