An amnesty for illegal immigrants and workers in the north Cyprus ends on Friday.
Minister of Labour and Social Security Hamza Ersan Saner warned that the amnesty was the last one to be issued by the ministry and that those affected should apply before the Friday deadline.
Stating that a total of 237 Employers had applied for the amnesty since it came into force on the 29th November, 2016, Saner said that a total of 274.797 TL had been paid to the state in fines.
He added that a total of 5,248 people had benefited from the amnesty.
Those working illegally after the deadline, will be shown no tolerance, he warned.
Saner said that some residents in the TRNC illegally benefited from the amnesty by leaving the country and paying one month’s minimum wage upon their return or acquiring a 45 day visitor’s permit by paying one month’s minimum wage plus 250 TL to the Immigration Department without having to leave the country.
