ANTSO Shipping has announced that passenger ferry services between Anamur and Kyrenia have been paused until spring. This is because the area between Anamur and Kyrenia is considered international open waters, and the ferry boats are not permitted to operate during the winter season, Kibris Postasi reported.
However, services using RoRo-ROPAX vessels will continue year-round. The statement also mentioned: “By the end of the year, in addition to passenger transport, we will also start transporting vehicles, vans, trucks, and lorries”.
In their announcement, they explained: “We have paused ferry services until spring because the waters between Anamur and Kyrenia are international open seas, and our ferries are not allowed to operate during the winter.
“But the RoRo-ROPAX services will continue throughout the year, and by the end of the year, we will also begin transporting vehicles, including vans, trucks, and lorries“.
