Pieces of ancient pottery have been discovered at Gecitkale’s Mersinlik picnic site.
The area was undergoing renovation when the pottery pieces were found. All work on the area has been stopped to allow further investigation on the site by the Department of Antiquities.
The island of Cyprus has a rich and varied history and these pieces may add further to the archaeological jigsaw puzzle.
