At the court hearing, police officer Süleyman Taluğ explained that on August 13, 2024, Cesur Dinç, Fatih Şimşek, and five others, who had a financial dispute with the victim A.Ö., called the victim to a workplace in Hamitköy. During their conversation, they seriously assaulted him by hitting him in various places and then took his car keys, committing robbery.
The officer also mentioned that the suspects did not allow the victim to leave the building. Instead, they forcibly took him to the back of the workplace, where they held him in a building used as an auto body and paint shop.
The suspects then threatened the victim by saying, “If you’re brave enough, go tell someone this car is here“, before putting him in a car and leaving him at a bus stop near a gas station in the Dörtyol area.
Officer Taluğ noted that the complaint was filed on August 16, 2024. While Cesur Dinç and Fatih Şimşek remain in custody, the police are still looking for the five other suspects. He requested that the suspects be held in police custody for two more days, as there are still a number of witness statements to collect, security camera footage to examine, and other suspects to be found.
Judge Tutku Candaş agreed and ordered that the suspect remain in custody for two more days.
