One of the suspects of a failed attempt to break into an ATM, as reported several weeks ago, has been arrested and appeared in court yesterday.
Their attempt to rob an ATM belonging to the Coop Bank in Kyrenia on February 9th was unsuccessful because, despite the use of cutting gear, the money was secured in a steel holding cage. However they did cause around TL 15,000 of damage in the process.
One of the suspects, Huseyin Ozkarsiyakali has now been caught and appeared in Kyrenia Criminal Court yesterday. Police testified that they were still looking for a number of accomplicies.
Judge Mustafa Atakara ordered that Mr Ozkarsiyakali be released on bail, subject to having his travel papers confiscated and two guarantors to stand bail of TL 40,000 each.
