Aydin Denktaş, widow of the late founding President Rauf Denktaş, remains in hospital and is being treated for pneumonia.

Mrs Denktaş was admitted to Nicosia State Hospital unable to breathe. She was put into the intensive care unit but has now been transferred to the chest infection unit.
Head doctor Bülent Dizdarlı said that 85-year-old Mrs Denktaş is being given oxygen intermittently, to aid her breathing.
He said that: “Due to her age and general condition, she may have to stay at the hospital for further treatment. We cannot say anything for certain as yet regarding when she will be discharged”.
