Aydin Denktaş, the widow of the founding President Rauf Denktaş, who has been hospitalised in intensive care and diagnosed with pneumonia, will be brought out of her medically induced coma this afternoon.
A statement by the Chief Medical Officer of Nicosia State Hospital, Dr. Bülent Dizdarlı said that Mrs. Denktaş’s infection had reduced and they would try to waken her this afternoon.
On Tuesday evening, Mrs. Denktaş had complained of extreme fatigue, weakness, breathing difficulties and tachycardia. She was diagnosed with pneumonia at Nicosia State Hospital. Mrs. Denktaş was connected to a respirator in the intensive care unit.
