US Vice President Joe Biden, had a phone conversation with President Anastasiades late Friday afternoon, according to Greek Cypriot government spokesman Nikos Christodoulides.
In his Twitter account, the spokesman said that Biden and Anastasiades had discussed the Cyprus talks and Biden’s forthcoming visit to Turkey on 24th August.
According to Turkish Cypriot media, Biden also spoke with President Mustafa Akinci on the telephone.
The main topic during the 50 minute conversation was the Cyprus talks. The two men discussed how to ensure that the negotiations could be completed by the end of 2016.
