A blood donation campaign is being organised at Ercan Airport in cooperation with the Turkish Cypriot Red Crescent with the slogan “Every drop of blood saves a life”.
As part of its social responsibility activities, T&T Airport Operations is organising a blood donation campaign at Ercan Airport in cooperation with the Turkish Cypriot Red Crescent with the slogan “Every drop of blood saves a life”, Kibris Postasi reports.
According to the statement made by the company, the campaign will be carried out between 10am and 5pm tomorrow and Friday at Ercan Airport, in the departure lounge and in Taşyapı construction site section.
T&T Ercan Airport Operations General Manager M. Serhat Özçelik said that they aimed to raise awareness about meeting the blood supply needs in the country and invited everyone to donate blood.
Özçelik stated that he would like to thank in advance all T&T, Taşyapı and Ercan Airport employees, Civil Aviation, institutions, organisations, airlines, handling, customs, health and security personnel, and all sensitive country people who will heed this call and participate in the campaign to meet the blood need in the country.
The Cyprus Turkish Red Crescent President Sezai Sezen also thanked T&T Ercan Airport Operations.
The statement listed the conditions for donating blood as follows:
“Any healthy individual between the ages of 18-65 (men every 3 months, women every 4 months) can donate blood. They need to weigh over 50 kg. They need to have not had surgery, tattoos, acupuncture, or piercings in the past year. They do not have any contagious diseases (Hepatitis B, Hepatitis C, Syphilis, AIDS, etc.). They need to have not consumed alcohol in the last 18-20 hours. They need to feel well enough to donate blood”.
