The search for the body of a young woman, now identified as Gaye Soyutok (18), who died when the car she was travelling in plunged over the side of the Kyrenia-Nicosia highway, plummeting into a flooded ravine continues for a third day.
Gaye was travelling in a car, with three friends on Thursday, on the Nicosia-Kyrenia highway. Their car went over the side of the mountain road in the Ciklos area, and broke up while plunging into the ravine below. The bodies of her three fellow passengers have been recovered.
Work to find her body continued early this morning. Efforts to find her remains have been hampered by torrential rain.
Meanwhile, divers have been deployed to find her. The Civil Defence Organisation, Security Forces Command, special units, firefighters and other emergency disaster elements have combined forces to recover her body.
