Prime Minister Omer Kalyoncu has said that the country is increasing its security measures.
Speaking before a meeting of the Council of Ministers, Kalyoncu said he was determined to take all the necessary steps to boost security at home.
The prime minister said that security forces and the police would be reinforced, adding the the government had already prepared several bills which it would submit to the Assembly.
Referring to accusations levelled against him and President Mustafa Akinci about their participation in the Nevruz celebrations, Kalyoncu denied that they supported terrorism and the PKK. He said that such allegations made in the media, were the product of a fascist mentality.
