BoraJet airlines chairman, Fatih Akol, has announced that BoraJet will introduce more flights to the TRNC, Turkish Cypriot daily ‘Diyalog’ reports.
According to Akol, BoraJet, which currently offers flights from Adana and Hatay, will begin direct flights from Bursa, Kayseri, Trabzon and Antalya. He said that initially, there will be three weekly flights.
Akol went on to stress the importance of tourism to the TRNC, and added that he believes that more cheap flights to the TRNC, will contribute to the economy of North Cyprus.
Borajet is Turkey’s first regional airline company and began operations in May 2010. It operates a fleet of ATR 72-500 turboprop aircraft. Each plane can seat up to 74 passengers.
