Following reports that the Environment Minister Mehmet Harmanci had refused permission for the offloading of fuel oil at the Teknecik power station, it has just emerged that offloading has commenced anyway, without permission or barriers.
Mr Harmanci had insisted that before any offloading began, mobile barriers had to be installed in the sea to contain any possible accidental discharge.
