As reported yesterday, lawyers who do not agree with the governments proposed measures to alleviate the cheque bouncing problems have suspended courtroom activities and are instead demonstrating outside parliament.
There they have been met with police and barricades. They have spoken with the House Speaker Hasan Bozer, saying that if the barricades are not removed, they would remove them. Mr Bozer has gone outside to speak with the striking lawyers and a committee of them have now been allowed entry into Parliament. The remainder of the protesters are waiting outside, though the barriers have been removed.
