A building worker fell to his death while working on the construction of a hotel near the Gonyeli roundabout, on Sunday.
Beyazit Temiz aged 29, reportedly lost his balance while standing on scaffolding on the sixth floor. He fell to his death, striking the concrete ground from about eleven meters high.
Work on the building was halted. The leader of the Turkish Cypriot Workers Union El-Sen, Kublai Ozkırac, pointed a finger at the government for blocking the way to unionising the private business sector.
