Deputy Prime Minister-Foreign Minister Kudret Ozersay, speaking at a meeting of the Cabinet, said that the Greek Cypriot side had delayed the use of mobile phones across the island.
He said that the Cabinet had taken steps so that mobile phone interoperability was possible across Cyprus. He added that decisions regarding a special communications tax and VAT had been taken.
Noting that the necessary steps have been taken by the Cabinet regarding mobile phone ‘roaming’, Ozersay added that after this decision, the related measures agreed by both the Greek Cypriot side and the telecoms companies, could be implemented.
