Last week four men broke into a number of gift machines outside supermarkets in the Kyrenia area to loot them for the change they hold.
Yesterday all four were at Kyrenia court, having been arrested for criminal damage. Police testified that the four (as yet unnamed) carried out a number of raids on the gift machines.
On June 14th, two of the men attacked the machine outside Lemar supermarket in Karakum. They broke into the coin holder section of the machine and took the small amount of cash. There was a similar raid on June 19th, this time at the Starling supermarket on the Bellapais road. Both raids were recorded on supermarket security cameras.
Judge Talat Usar ordered the men to be held while police conclude their inquiries.
