Foreign Minister Tahsin Ertuğruloğlu met with Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu who was in the TRNC to hold official meetings.
The Cyprus negotiations and cooperation and collaboration between the two ministries were discussed at the meeting, which was held at the Foreign Ministry.
Before the meeting, Foreign Minister Tahsin Ertuğruloğlu pointed out that all views on the Cyprus negotiations were presented at the meeting held at the Presidency with the participation of the government officials and political party leaders.
Stating that the two Foreign Ministers discussed the bilateral issues between the Turkish and TRNC foreign ministries, Ertuğruloğlu emphasised that he was extremely pleased to host Minister Çavuşoğlu.
Turkish Foreign Minister Çavuşoğlu said that the meeting to discuss the current state of the Cyprus negotiations at the Presidency had been constructive and useful.
Stating that a road map had been set oout for the future by Turkey and the Turkish Cypriot side, which would serve the rights and interests of the Turkish Cypriot people, Çavuşoğlu also emphasised the close cooperation with Ertuğruloğlu on a joint Ministerial level.
Pointing out the value of the collaboration between the two foreign ministries, Çavuşoğlu said that they will continue to work for the TRNC’s visibility and effectiveness in the international arena, including increasing the number of representative offices of the TRNC both in Turkey and overseas, for the improvement of the foreign representative offices and for the recognition of the TRNC passport in more countries.
TRNC Foreign Ministry
