Twice weekly charter flights from Finland to the North Cyprus will begin in February 2015, in spite of obstacles posed by the Greek Cypriots to prevent tourists from visiting the TRNC, ‘Kibris Postasi’ reports.
Within the framework of an agreement between a company named Northern Travel (NTL), which brings tourists from Europe to North Cyprus on charter flights and a firm named CypernSun, the NTL’s partner in Finland, celebrities from Finland and members of the press have been brought to North Cyprus, with the aim of promoting the TRNC in Finland.
Huseyin Oscar, director of Northern Travel Ltd and Oscar Hotel, told ‘Kibris Postasi’ that their new target is the Scandinavian countries. He thanked the Ministry of Tourism and Turkey’s Aid Delegation for contributing in their efforts to have charter flights to North Cyprus.
Finally, Kemal Ozturk, general director of CypernSun, stated that in spite of all obstacles, they will include in their charter flights countries such as Denmark, Sweden and Norway. He said that they have launched a “broad advertising campaign” in all newspapers, TV stations and other places in Finland.
