Former Greek Cypriot President, Demetris Christofias has appeared on social networking sites, angrily rebutting certain accusations made against him.
He said that he had remained in South Cyprus and had never left the island despite false claims to the contrary.
Christfias said that allegations that he was retiring to Cuba were “shameful”. They were as untrue as the rumours that he owned a luxury apartment in London.
He claimed that he was being made a victim of psychological warfare and that it was distressing to hear former friends and colleagues asking if he had left the island.
Christofias concluded that he was not a coward and that he was preparing a statement of his assets to be made public.
