CMP discovers human remains in village

The remains of two missing persons were found in Gökhan (Voni) village following excavation work undertaken by the Committee on Missing Persons (CMP).

It is believed that the remains, which were unearthed in a military zone, are Greek Cypriot.

In statements to Turkish Cypriot daily ‘Kibris Gazetesi’, a Turkish Cypriot member of the Committee of Missing Persons said that after evaluating information they had received regarding a mass grave in the area containing an unknown number of Greek Cypriots missing persons, the remains of two persons were discovered on Tuesday. He added that they will continue excavation in the area at three different sites.
