The majority CTP party were given the responsibility for putting together a coalition government.
Under the constitution, they have 15 days to do this before another party is given the responsibility.
Ten days of that period has already passed.
Initially the CTP met with all the other parties, then focused on forming a new government with the DP party led by Serdar Denktas.
During meetings, broad agreement on a joint programme was established. However talks floundered on the allocation of ministries between the two parties.
Since then the CTP has consulted with its regional committees but received a mixed response. It, therefore, still has no clear sense of direction and its time alloted to forming a coalition is running out.
