Presidents Mustafa Akinci and Nicos Anastasiades are scheduled to meet on Friday morning to continue the Cyprus negotiations.
This is the first in a series of twice weekly meetings, after they announced their decision to step up the negotiations process through a joint statement issued by UNFICYP on 8th June. Their aim is to resolve outstanding issues in a constructive way.
The meeting begins at 10am today in the UN buffer zone.
Talks between the two community leaders began in May 2015, with the aim of reuniting the island under a federal umbrella.
