Constructors Move Trucks Away From PM’s Office

North Cyrus News - Cafer GurcaferThe Cyprus Turkish Construction Contractors’ Association will remove their lorries from the front of the prime ministry. According to a statement made late yesterday evening, the executive board has decided to remove the vehicles away from the building.

The constructors’ association have been protesting at the amount of accounts unpaid by the government and local councils who, they say, appear to have immunity.

The total amount is 60-70 million TL owed to builders for their work, the head of the contractors’ association Cafer Gurcafer has said. Local and government agencies had to work in a more coherent and efficient manner, he said.

Gurcafer said that he had held a constructive meeting with Prime Minister Tufan Erhurman who said that he would convey the union’s demands to the Council of Ministers.
