Çavuşoğlu added that out of 127 schools, 77 have been assessed. Strengthening work has started in 28 schools, and contracts are being finalised for 3 more. Of the 28 schools where work has begun, 22 will be ready by the start of the school year on Monday. For the remaining 6 schools, necessary precautions will be taken while work continues.
He also stressed that 26 schools had to be partially or fully closed based on the reports, but noted that 5 schools were found not to need reinforcement. In total, 294 classrooms and rooms were vacated for reinforcing work, and 218 container classrooms were set up in their place.
Çavuşoğlu concluded his remarks by wishing the entire education community a successful 2024-2025 school year, hoping for success for students, teachers, and parents.
