Council of Ministers revokes Turkish pipeline land deal

At its latest meeting, the Council of Ministers revoked yet another decision made by the former UBP government.

This time PM Sibel Siber revoked the UBP decision to grant to an individual, a huge plot of land that is destined to be the staging point for the pipeline coming from Turkey to the TRNC.

Yesterday evening after the Council of Ministers finished their meeting, they announced all the decisions they had taken.

The council had recently learned that the previous UBP government had transferred ownership of state land to a private individual. A total of 230 donums of coastline is destined to be the central point for the arrival and distribution of the water pipeline from Turkey.

This decision has been cancelled and the land has been transferred back to the state.
