The Lefkoşa Turkish municipal council has rejected the use of the water transferred from Turkey, Turkish Cypriot daily Halkin Sesi reports.
According to the paper, the city council refused to distribute the water which will be sold to the council at 2.30 TL per tonne during the transition period.
Mayor of North Lefkoşa Mehmet Harmanci, who did not participate in the voting, stated that this decision could send to officials the message to re-think the high-selling price of the water.
