A clean up by Kyrenia municipality was organised for the Karaoglanoglu coastal area.
The council said that around 90 bags of litter had been collected by council workers.
Kyrenia mayor Nidai Gungordu said that there had been a litter picking campaign for the Bogaz picnic area and the Kyrenia-Nicosia main road. Continuous efforts were being made to keep those areas litter-free.
The mayor called on all citizens to respect the environment and to be mindful about how they dispose of their litter.
