A case filed by the owner of Turkish Cypriot daily ‘Afrika’ against Turkish President Erdogan has been rejected by the courts. Levent had attempted to sue the Turkish president for inciting violence and attacks against the premises of ‘Afrika’ on 22 January, 2018.
The court threw out his case on the grounds of a lack of evidence and that presidents of foreign countries were exempt from prosecution.
Meanwhile, Sener and his chief editor face charges of insulting President Erdogan by publishing a caricature deemed offensive to Erdogan.
