Following the meeting presided over by President Mustafa Akinci regarding the issue of mobile phone interoperability across the island, it was decided that the GSM operators in North Cyprus will inform Swiss-based Comfone of the outcome of the meeting.
Reportedly, after a number of tests are run, it will be possible for mobiles phones to be used across Cyprus.
The meeting was also attended by representatives of GSM operators, Prime Minister, Ersin Tatar, Foreign Minister Kudret Ozersay, the head of Information Technologies and Communication and other officials.
