The two Cypriot community leaders and their negotiating delegations arrived in Mont Pèlerin, Switzerland on Sunday prior to the crucial phase of the Cyprus negotiations, which begin today.
President Mustafa Akıncı, President of the Republic of Cyprus Nicos Anastasiades, accompanied by their wives, UN Secretary-General’s Special Adviser for Cyprus Espen Barth Eide, and negotiators Özdil Nami and Andreas Mavroyiannis met for dinner on Sunday evening.

This morning’s meeting, will be addressed by UN Secretary-General Bank Ki-moon and is scheduled to last for two hours. The negotiations will continue between Monday and Friday, November 7-11.
The leaders and their teams will be discussing all outstanding issues in the settlement talks, with the main focus on the chapter on territory.
President Anastasiades travelled directly to Switzerland on Sunday, however, President Akıncı stopped off in Turkey en-route to Switzerland, to meet with President Erdoğan prior to Monday’s first meeting.
Anastasiades is accompanied by his chief negotiator Andreas Mavroyiannis and other advisers including experts on property. Akıncı is escorted by his negotiating team, led by Özdil Nami and two experts on land, surveys and maps.
