Cyprus issue – TRNC ‘has done everything it can’

At a meeting with the Cyprus Academic Dialogue Association, the President, Dervis Eroglu made it clear that he felt that the TRNC had tried its best and gone out of its way to find a resolution to the Cyprus issue.

Speaking of the efforts made by the TRNC he said ‘The Cyprus Turkish side has done everything it possibly can and more in order to facilitate a solution to the Cyprus problem’.

UN Secretary General Ban Ki Moon had aimed for an agreement to be reached by June of 2012, a deadline that clearly wasn’t met. Dervis Eroglu said that the TRNC had done everything it could to meet this deadline and that since taking office he has been working towards a solution.
