Negotiations to solve the Cyprus problem have not been suspended, they have ended, Turkey’s EU Affairs Minister Ömer Çelik has said.
Çelik blamed the Greek Cypriot side for sabotaging the process.
Speaking on the Turkish NTV news channel, the Turkish Minister said “the comprehensive negotiations have now ended….they are not suspended or frozen. Everything that needs to be discussed has been discussed. The process has ended”.
Accusing the Greek Cypriot side of sabotaging the process, the Turkish EU Affairs Minister said that their job was to build bridges, not walls.
Çelik also said that the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus and Turkey will consult and decide on how to proceed in the period ahead.
