The annual Dawn Watch was held at the Yavuz Landing Beach on the 50th anniversary of the Peace Operation, Kibris Postasi reports.
The vigil started at 8.30pm on Friday, with the torchlight procession, prayers were read, the SAT team performed, and the GKK Band and the MSB Mehteran Unit gave a concert.
President Ersin Tatar also participated.
TRT artists Dünya Tekin, Zafer Albayrak and Gökçe Nur Semerci gave performances in the evening, and there were also fireworks and laser shows.
In addition, one of Turkey’s famous artists, Ferhat Göçer, gave a concert in the evening.
President Ersin Tatar, in his speech at the event, said, “Tomorrow morning, with God’s permission, our President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan will come to the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus with a very large delegation and we will celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Cyprus Peace Operation with great enthusiasm”.
Tatar made references to the Cyprus Peace Operation and emphasised “an independent TRNC“.
