The death earlier today of 15 year old Gezi victim Berkin Elvan, sparked protests and demonstrations across Turkey.
The young teenager died earlier today after remaining 269 days in a coma following a tear gas canister injury during last June’s Gezi Park protests.
Young Berkin was struck in the head by a tear gas cannister fired by police during last June’s protests in Gezi Park. He suffered a brain haemorrhage and underwent five surgical operations. However, in the end, doctors were unable to save his life.
