Thanks to the bequest from the will of Marion Cooper, £84,000 was left to the Kyrenia State Hospital.
The head teacher had lived in the TRNC for 17 years and passed away last year. In her will she left £84,000 towards the purchase of a dialysis unit.
Yesterday, the executors of her will, lawyer Peyman Erginel and Prue Lundie handed over a cheque to the hospital.
Doctor Salih Beyoglu received the cheque and said that there were 80 dialysis patients in the Kyrenia area and that this would be great comfort to them.
The dialysis unit will be installed in memory of Marion Cooper’s name.
