The cost of purchasing water piped to the TRNC from Turkey varies depending on location.
According to Turkish Cypriot daily Havadis, the highest price for the water is in North Nicosia, where 30 tons of water cost 6.52 TL. At the same time, the lowest price paid is in the villages of Vadili and Pasakoy in Famagusta district, where 30 tons of water cost 3.50 TL.
Reporting on the same issue, Star Kibris writes that Gonyeli municipality is the only one out of 28 municipalities that has not signed the agreement to buy the water piped from Turkey.
