A driver who was injured in a traffic accident in the early hours of this morning remains under observation in hospital, Kibris Postasi reports.
According to a police statement, the traffic accident occurred around 7 am today. Mehmet Akkan, 36, was driving from Dikmen towards Boğazköy when he lost control of the vehicle due to inattention. After veering off to the left side of the road and dropping onto the shoulder, he re-entered the road uncontrollably, eventually veering off to the right side and crashing into an electricity pole before overturning.
The injured driver was taken to Dr. Burhan Nalbantoğlu State Hospital in Nicosia , where he was placed under observation following treatment.
The police investigation into the accident is ongoing.
