Drought Makes Potato Prices Shoot Up

The short supply of the humble spud has made prices shoot up. According to Minister of Agriculture and Natural Resources, Erkut Sahali, it was anticipated that 16,000 tons of potatoes would be produced, however the lack of rainfall has meant that only 6,000 tons have been produced.

There is also a shortage of supply of potatoes from Turkey. This has led to people heading south to buy their spuds.
