A man was arrested by police in Nicosia on March 22nd. Salih Gunsel was found to be carrying 28 packets of bonsai, a synthetic cannabis. Pollice were searching for his accomplice.
Gunsel and his accomplice, Mohammad Emed were tried at Nicosia Crown Court and each sentenced to two years imprisonment.
The two men had acquired the drugs in the South and had brought them into the TRNC to sell them on.
