Director of the Meteorological Department, Raif Ilker Buran, has said that dust from North Africa which has been in the atmosphere for about a week, will abate today.
Buran said that strong winds had carried the dust particles from North Africa to the region. There will be less dust in the atmosphere but it will not clear completely, he said.
He also said that May had been unseasonably warm with temperatures up to 42 C in some areas.
The director said that this week, the estimated air temperature inland will be between 33-36 C and between 27-30 C on the coast.
