An earthquake of 4.9 magnitude occurred off the coast of Paphos just after midnight, Yeniduzen reported.
The earthquake, which was 18 kilometres away from Paphos city centre, was felt in many parts of Cyprus.
The European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre and the American Geological Survey noted that the earthquake at 12.29 local time occurred off the coast of Paphos and at a depth of about 10 km.
It was reported that there was no material damage or injury in Paphos, where the earthquake was most strongly felt.
